GayTP 2026 – Tournament Information
Welcome to GayTP 2026 presented by Tennis Sydney.
We are excited to welcome 120 participants for another fantastic day of tennis community and fun. Thank you to everyone for joining us and helping make this one of the biggest and most exciting Tennis Sydney events of the year.

Lunch will be provided for all players.

There will be a special prize for the best dressed team so don’t forget to bring your team spirit creativity and colour.

The official draw will be released on 17 May. (Please note the team list is not the official group draw).
Competition Overview
GayTP 2026 features:
- 24 teams
- 2 divisions
- 12 teams per division
Each division will be split into:
- Group A
- Group B
- Group C
Each team consists of 5 players.
Teams will compete in a round robin stage followed by knockout rounds.
Match Format
Each team match includes:
- Doubles 1
- Doubles 2
- Singles
All 5 players must participate in each team match.
Doubles
- 1 set to 6 games
- 5-all tiebreak to 7 points
- Short deuce applies at second deuce
Singles
- Fast4 format
- First to 4 games
- 3-all tiebreak to 5 points
- Short deuce applies at second deuce
Important Competition Rules
Singles Restriction
During the round robin stage each player may only play singles once.
This restriction resets during the knockout stage where a player may play singles one additional time.
Doubles Pairing Restriction
The same doubles pair may only play together once during the round robin stage.
This restriction resets during the knockout stage where the same pair may play together one additional time.
Team Captains
Team captains must complete the match sheet before the start of each match and share it with the opposing captain.
Knockout Stage
At the conclusion of the round robin stage the following teams will qualify for the Main Draw semi finals:
- 1st place team from each group
- Best 2nd placed team within the division
Semi Final Matchups
- Group A winner vs Best 2nd placed team
- Group B winner vs Group C winner
Semi final winners will advance to the Grand Final.
All remaining teams will continue into the Consolation Draw.
Knockout Stage Match Format (Consolation)
Doubles
- Fast4 format
- First to 4 games
- 3-all tiebreak to 5 points
- Short deuce applies
Singles
- Super tie-break
- First to 10 points win by 2
