2015 Spring mid-week comp - entry closed

Spring Mid-Week Comp is here! Entry to this comp is now open to all Members with play due to commence on Thursday 24 September. Come show off all your tennis talents in this combo format of singles and doubles. Entry is limited to 72 players across 4 divisions. All you need to do is enter for yourself and the Committee will match up you with a partner for the whole comp. This makes for a more even standard of play throughout the comp as we attempt to make all pairs in each division as evenly matched as possible.

This competition follows the ‘weighted doubles format’. This means that in each division the highest seeded player will be matched with the lowest seeded player, the second highest with the second lowest and so on. The ‘weighting’ attempts to make for a more even standard across the divisions.

Format of Play
Each Thursday night you will play with the same partner. You will play against a different pair each week until you have played all of the pairs in your division. The format will commence with a doubles set, followed by two sets of singles (the respective #1s will play each other in singles which is followed by the respective #2’s playing each other) and then the night’s play will finish off with another doubles set. This means that each week you will play 2 sets of doubles and 1 set of singles. All sets shall be the first to 6 with a tie-break at 5-5. The top 4 teams at the end of the 9 week round-robin will play a semi-final to decide the top 2 teams for the final.

Entry and fees: $160 per player. Payment must be made at the time of entry via PayPal or credit card on the website. Your entry cannot be confirmed until payment has been received.

If you are already a Member, entry and payment can be made online by simply logging into the Tennis Sydney website. Once logged in, on the right hand side under “My Account,” you will see the link to Spring mid-week comp 2015.
