Transport to Cintra Park

The closest train station is Burwood, about 15 minutes walk to the courts heading north along Burwood Rd, across Parramatta Rd and continuing on until you reach Gipps St, Concord. Turn right and the courts are about 5 minutes along on your left.There are express trains (12 mins) departing from Central Platform 18 – North Shore and Western Line – to Burwood. Check http://www.cityrail.info/ for timetables.

Parking

There is a large car park available at the Cintra Park courts, enter from Gipps Street. A word of CAUTION ! The entry and exit to the car park is on a bend in Gipps St, so please take extra care when arriving at and departing the courts. Request to local players who are driving. If you have space in your car please offer a lift to some of our many visitors from inter-state and overseas even if it is only to the nearest train station.

No smoking. No dogs allowed.

The Western Suburbs Tennis Association / Cintra Park Tennis Centre complies with the City of Canada Bay Council’s no smoking policy and the State Government’s Smoke-free Sports Grounds policy. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the grounds. The Association also complies with an order from the City of Canada Bay Council that dogs are not permitted anywhere on the grounds of the Cintra Park Tennis Centre. Dogs are welcome in the adjoining park. Your co-operation with both requests above is appreciated.

 

Sportsmassage

Massage service available – 10.00am – 4.00pm

Sandie Bennett is a qualified sports and remedial massage therapist with over 10 years experience, she is also a qualified personal trainer and sports trainer with 17 years experience. Sandie has previous experience as a sports therapist at events such as; the Australian Ironman event, Australian Indoor Cricket, NSW Indoor Sports and is also the trainer for Australia’s #1 female wheelchair tennis player, Janel Manns.   

Prices:  15min = $20
             30min = $40
             Other times and prices available depending on needs.

CATERING

Complimentray tea and coffee will be available and we will be holding a BBQ at lunch. All proceeds will go to charity. If you can help out with the BBQ please let the Control Desk know when you arrive at the tournament.

The pro-shop at Cintra sells a range of refreshments and snacks and will be open all weekend.The nearest shops are about a 10 minute walk away on either Parramatta Road(limited) or 15 minutes walk to Burwood Road toward the station.

Slazenger

Set format: Single set, first to 6 games, (Short deuce, sudden death point upon reaching 2nd deuce) Standard tiebreak at 5-5, first to 7 by 2 (no sudden death point).

If there are no walkovers/withdrawals, every player/team is guaranteed 4 sets. If you make the semi of your [8th of the] draw, you will play 5 sets, and if you make the final, you will play 6 sets.

This is the Club’s last tournament for 2014 and our major charity fundraiser. The Committee trust you will have a great day catching up with friends and making new ones.
