Tennis Sydney 'Hall of Fame' Presentation

We extend a special invitation to you all to join us at the mpv Hotel on Saturday 7 December from 6.00pm as part of this year’s Christmas Party to congratulate Brendan Moore on his induction to the Tennis Sydney ‘Hall of Fame’.

brendan

From a mixed sports background in his native Ireland including squash, parachuting, Gaelic football and hurling, Brendan arrived in Australia in 1988. He first played tennis in1995 and joined Tennis Sydney in 1998. He was elected to the Committee in 2004 where he took on the role of Membership Coordinator until 2006. From 2006 – 2008 he moved to a new role as Competition Coordinator for the Club.

He was elected President in 2009, a role he continues today. August 2013 was his 4th year anniversary as President and 2014 will mark his 10th year of involvement with the Tennis Sydney Committee.

Brendan has contributed an enormous amount of time and energy to Tennis Sydney over the years, not the least in being the Club’s ‘unofficial’ driver/courier/delivery van in arranging and transporting everything from trophies, balls, and other supplies that ensure our mid-week competitions, tournaments and doubles days run smoothly and to great success. He is among one of the first to arrive at a venue to set-up and always among the last to leave.

He, along with the Treasurer, administers the finances of the Club ensuring our bills are paid on time and that our tennis events are run to budget. Brendan also represents the Club at Team Sydney Sports Council meetings and is our representative for Tennis Sydney membership and participation to Tennis NSW, Mardi Gras and GLISA.

For several years he has coordinated the Club’s participation at Fair Day and has been instrumental in negotiating the Club’s insurance and free player personal accident insurance through Tennis NSW this year. He is currently coordinating the venue bookings and requirements for the Tennis Sydney 2014 Calendar of Events including AGLO, Peter Deacon and the doubles day tournaments.

For his sustained leadership and exceptional contribution to the administration and operations of Tennis Sydney, Brendan Moore will be inducted to the Tennis Sydney ‘Hall of Fame’.
