Transport and parking

There is limited parking within the grounds of Eastcourts Tennis Centre. The courts are located in a residential neighbourhood so other parking options in surrounding streets  may also be limited.

The closest public transport are buses that travel down Anzac Parade from both Circular Quay via Taylor Square(397,L94,399) and Central (391, 395). The nearest bus stop is the corner of Anzac Parade and Strachan St, Kingsford. The courts are about 10 minutes walk.(refer map below)

Lee and the team will be putting on a sausage sizzle for lunch (subject to her on-court commitments).

A special tennis day menu has been organised by East Cafe, located at the courts, including breakfast and espresso coffee to kick start your day. You can check the menu HERE.

Ann-Marie from the Star Observer will once again be joining us. She will attend the tournament on Sunday morning. Please make her feel welcome. If you do not wish to be photographed, please discuss with Ann-Marie or your group captain.

Clay Court Etiquette

Please sweep the court with the sweeping mats after you finish every set (including finals).  Sweep the lines with the rotating line sweepers as required.

Round Robin Set Format

Within each group, each team will play 4 matches of 1 set, first to 6 games with a standard tiebreak at 5-5.

5 point short deuce will be utilised (i.e the third time you get to deuce it’s only one sudden death point).

Warm ups are to be kept to a maximum of 5 mins.

Group Winner Scoring

The winner and runner up of each group will be determined by sets won. In the event of a tie on sets the winner will be determined by percentage games won. ie. Games won divided by total games played (eg. 20 games won, 18 games lost = 20/(20+18) = 52.632%)

The winner of each group will advance to their division final. The runner up of each group will advance to a 3rd/4th play off.

Group Captains are on board to help the smooth running of the tournament.

Please check-in with your group captain on arrival and follow their lead for the day.

Captains will be responsible for scoring, managing the order of play and determining who advances to finals/play offs.

Captains are in charge of balls for your group.  Check the scoreboard to see if you get new balls for your match.

Court allocation

Courts allocations were randomly drawn out of a hat at the last Committee Meeting.

Finals and 3rd/4th playoffs should commence at approximately 4pm, on the courts determined by your captains.

The draws and first match times are available HERE. Again, please check your first match time carefully.

Good luck. Have a great day.
