The race for honours in Div 1 has essentially been a 2 horse race all season, with Russell Hall leading with 2 weeks to play by just 1/2 a point from Ben Tari. But the odds are on Russell taking line honours as Ben is still to have the bye with just 2 rounds remaining. Russell has scored top points on no less than 5 occasions from his 8 rounds which is very impressive. His sizzling groundstrokes has been the feature of his play, with his shots rasing the temperature of the centre a few degrees each week.
Ben has had a sensational season to keep it so close, using his big serve and volley game to cause a lot of damage during the season. The gap between the top two and the rest of the field is quite large, with 9.5 points back to Nick Cole who has also been having a great season.
There is only 5.5 points between 3rd and 11th spot which shows how close the rest of the players are graded.
Everyone is thrilled about the onset of spring arriving as it has been the coldest winter on court that this girl can recall.
